Cantactrices: SÍLVIA PÉREZ CRUZ
6th December 2020, at 8 p.m.
Auditorio de Galicia, Spain
Wom@rts partner Auditorio de Galicia hosted a concert of the Catalan composer, singer an actress which is framed in the Womarts Project as part of the ‘Cantactrices’ concert-series.
She presented her last album, Farsa, a group of songs that Sílvia composed in collaboration with other arts and other artists: theater, cinema, dance, painting, photography, poetry. Recent examples (all from 2018) of these works are found in the film La noche de 12 años (Álvaro Brechner); the original music created for the show Grito Pelao with the dancer Rocío Molina or his compositions for the theater play Cyrano performed by the actor Lluís Homar.
Celebrating this interdisciplinary dialogue and with the intention of giving unity to the project, the relationship with photography has also been sought, making a series of photos that will serve as specific covers for each of the songs. Sílvia also put her face at the service of artistic make-up: in each of these covers her face receives a canvas treatment and the result is directly inspired by the music that they illustrate in each case.
FARSA CIRCUS BAND is the live band for this project. The line-up is made up of great musicians from the same generation as Sílvia with whom she meets again after many years and different paths of musical research.
