Residencies

Aimed to promote an equal share presence of women as active agents in the artistic arena, the Wom@rts project developed  a wide range of cultural activities in different European cities. From September 10^th to October 24^th 2018 the towns of Avilés (Spain), Angoulême (France) and Limerick (Ireland) hosted three creative residences for lens based digital artists, illustration&comic artists and printmakers, where more than 30 professionals from 8 different partner countries shareed experiences, working spaces and creative processes. Between 2019 and 2020, the works produced during these residences were included in a roaming transmedia exhibition that took its inspiration in ‘The Second Sex’, in homage to the well-known essay written by Simone de Beauvoir on the 70th anniversary of its first publication.
