The Communauté d’Agglomération du GrandAngoulême
is a local authority for cities cooperation (38 cities). Located in the centre of an urban area of 140.000 inhabitants, GrandAngoulême territory is the most important industrial center between Nantes and Bordeaux. GrandAngoulême has always encouraged the development of business activities in the fields of graphism, mecatronics (mechanics and electronics) and metalworking. Moreover the industrial area also develops comics, animation films, television series, movies, service providing, innovative products.
The Communauté d’Agglomération du GrandAngoulême is characterised by the development of a diversified “image center” locally, comprising a group of research and training establishments (11 superior Schools – specialized in documentary, digital arts, animation, video games – gathering around 1 000 students), public bodies and a network of competitive companies in digital art and cinematographic creation (representing around 100 companies and 1 500 employees).
