Aimed to promote an equal share presence of women as active agents in the artistic arena, the Wom@rts project developed a wide range of cultural activities in different European cities. From September 10th to October 24th, the towns of Avilés (Spain), Angoulême (France) and Limerick (Ireland) hosted three creative residences for lens-based digital artists, illustration&comics artists and printmakers, where 32 professionals from 8 partner countries shared experiences, working spaces, and creative processes. Between 2019 and 2020, the works produced during these residences were included in a roaming transmedia exhibition in homage to the well-known essay written by Simone de Beauvoir on the 70th anniversary of its first publication.
